I love the alley. Really nice people. Great bar. Food eh
I've been here many times in the past, daytime and nighttime, and definitely the worst is the old lady who sets you up, she is snappy, impatient and just overall rude, maybe she needs a day off. I do not know if their policy changed over the years, but *un*-surprisingly they did not offer my brother - a member of the U.S. Navy at the time, a military discount even when he showed military ID as proof.
Went for a plant night but the alley is really nice and clean
It was good but the lanes go off at 12am even if you are in the middle of a game.
It was a Saturday night when me and my girlfriend were trying to have date night. Bowl long island was the only alley with open lanes before 10pm near the islip area. It was vintage looking with the classic screens and scoring system not digital or fancy graphics. There's a sports bar in the front of the alley with a billiard table and couple other games it looked like a cool hangout if you live in the patchogue area I would consider frequenting it as a spot to hangout on the down low.
The other staff are very nice, friendly, helpful people. The actual bowling experience is nice too, but you can't help but to feel like you didn't get the full enjoyment because of how it all started - with an angry person who was *so* upset that you wanted to pay for a service they offer, bowling!
Once you get past the nasty as hell people (old man and woman - probably the owners) who set up your games with a look of disgust for giving them your money the place itself isn't too bad. Unfortunately for me this is the closest place otherwise I would happily watch them crumble - but they are lucky to be the only one nearby for many people.
If you do have the unfortunate displeasure of being at this place - order the french fries, they are tasty (although if the person is on her phone the whole time you're gonna have to wait until she makes a fresh batch because she burnt the previous one)
